FAQ's

Education and prospectus photography involves capturing a portfolio of images that showcase the facilities, activities, and culture of an educational institution. These photos can be used in your marketing materials such as brochures, websites, and social media to attract prospective students and parents.

First impressions count and professional photography can help create a positive first impression, highlighting the institution’s strengths, values and unique features. Creative, high-quality images can help to enhance the appeal of marketing materials, making them more engaging and effective in attracting potential students, parents and stakeholders.

A complete prospectus photoshoot should include:

  • Campus interiors and exteriors. Classrooms, sports facilities, computer suites, dining halls and libraries should be included.
  • Classrooms and learning environments. Show all the different types of classrooms such as D&T, IT, Science, Maths and English.
  • Students and staff in action. This could be in class learning or on campus.
  • Extracurricular activities and events. We can follow on school trips, national events and competitions across the UK and worldwide.
  • Sports facilities and teams. Anything from team headshots to sports days or competitions.
  • Unique features like labs, libraries, and arts facilities. Showcase your facilities and the unique and engaging lessons you offer.
  • Candid shots that capture the institution’s atmosphere. We specialise in setting up and capturing lessons as they happen naturally.

We will walk you through this step-by-step. Preparation involves:

  • Planning a shot list based on the institution’s key messages, values and marketing goals.
  • Scheduling the shoot to avoid any major disruptions and to ensure the availability of locations and participants.
  • Coordinating with staff and students we will capture authentic interactions
  • Please ensure all necessary permissions and consent forms are in place, particularly for student having their photo taken.

Please wear clothing that reflects the institution’s dress code and professionalism. It is advisable to avoid clothing with large logos (especially famous brands) or with any distracting patterns. Uniforms (if applicable) should be clean and well-presented.

Discussing the institution’s mission, values, vision, and unique attributes with us beforehand will help us align the photoshoot with your identity.

We bring professional cameras and lenses to every shoot. Specialist flash and continuous lighting equipment will be used for some images. It is best to ask participants beforehand if they have any conditions that may be set off by flash units.

A drone will be used for aerial shots and we potentially will need access to the institutes WiFi.

Post-production software is also essential for editing and enhancing images.

The duration can vary depending on the scope of the shoot. A shoot covering multiple locations and activities may take several days, while smaller projects such as sports days or results days might be completed in a few hours.

Post-production includes selecting the best images, colour correction and enhancement, retouching such as blemish removal, and preparing files in the required formats for different media uses. We usually deliver all our work via Dropbox and will offer a high resolution and web resolution folder within the price per project.

Please obtain any written consent from parents or guardians before we come on site. Institutions often have consent forms and policies in place to address privacy concerns and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Asking permission from external sources and letting people know where the images will be used is also a good idea. Giving plenty of warning that a photographer will be on site is a must.
