FAQ's

Drone photography involves using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), known as a drone that is equipped with a high-resolution camera to capture aerial images and videos from perspectives that are difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional photography methods.

  • Unique aerial perspectives of your site and surrounding area.
  • Cost-effective compared to traditional aerial photography. We won’t turn up in a chopper (sadly).
  • Has access to hard-to-reach or hazardous areas.
  • Versatility for various applications including real estate, construction, events and much more.

Legal requirements vary by country and region but typically include:

  • Registering the drone with aviation authorities. We are fully registered operators.
  • Obtaining a drone operator license or certification. We have all the necessary licenses and certifications needed, including insurances.
  • Adhering to flight restrictions (altitude limits, no-fly zones, etc.) We will always follow restrictions and never fly dangerously for a photograph or video clip.
  • Following privacy laws and obtaining necessary permissions when needed.

Professional drone photographers use drones equipped with high-resolution cameras, such as DJI Phantom, Mavic, and Inspire series. These drones offer advanced features like stabilized gimbals, GPS, and various shooting modes for capturing high-quality images and videos.

120 meters in altitude, which is the maximum height allowed by many aviation authorities. We will always discuss your needs first before we come to site.

We generally use our drone to provide clients with establishing shots to their video. This allows us to show their location and the surrounding area and adds interest to the video. Other areas include:

  • Construction (site surveys, progress monitoring)
  • Real estate (property listings, marketing materials)
  • Agriculture (crop health monitoring, land surveying)
  • Events ( festivals, weddings, sports)
  • Environmental monitoring (wildlife surveys, landscape documentation)
  • We always conduct pre-flight checks and planning.
  • Continuous rain and wind will cause us to abandon the shoot and reschedule.
  • Birds are dangerous to drone operation. We must know if there are specific birds nesting in your area.
  • Maintaining visual line-of-sight with the drone. We will need a good area to set off, operate and land.
  • Avoiding restricted areas and respecting no-fly zones. Some areas will need WiFi access near specific landmarks such as football stadiums.
  • Following local regulations and guidelines. We will check these before carrying out the project.
  • Lighting conditions (time of day, weather) We want to turn up on the right day for you. Rescheduling may take place to get the best weather for your shots.
  • Stability and control of the drone. We will not shoot in high winds and rain.
  • Legal restrictions (no-fly zones, altitude limits). We will discuss these first.
  • Battery life (limited flight time per battery) We have a finite amount of power and may need several visits if the shoot exceeds the drones battery life.
  • Privacy concerns (obtaining permissions for certain areas or subjects). You must discuss this with us before we come to site.

Costs will always vary based on factors such as the scope of work, location (travel expenses) and the duration of the shoot. Our prices are usually based on a half day and a full day with editing needs.

We mainly work with cloud storage and our preferred platform is Dropbox. We always offer two folders that include high resolution and optimised web resolution images. If you have other requirements, please speak to us about this.

Yes. We can fly our drone indoors, but it requires careful planning to avoid obstacles and ensure safety. We will need to see the space before we shoot.
